MID CITY churn incendiary indie anthems - microwave-ready to make you cut rugs and forget about the fact that none of us know what we're supposed to be anymore...Or if we even want to be that at all.
Ben Woodmason (guitar) found Joel Griffith (vox) from a post looking for 'Brandon Flowers’ angrier little brother'. With Ben's brother Tim (drums) and good mate Jimmy Campbell (bass), they sat in Ben’s makeshift studio and set about writing the songs they'd all wanted to hear but couldn't find: Straight-ahead tunes with energy and relatability. Hooks. Hooks. Hooks.
And it kinda worked! Straight off the bat the quartet have secured a number of high profile placements across their home country, including a top 10 spot on Australia’s leading youth network triple j. 'Old Habits' kicked up a stir in Germany in 2019 when TV/podcast star Ollie Shultz shared the track, causing a chain reaction that lead to the song hitting the Viral Top 50 chart on Spotify in Germany, and #15 on their College Radio Charts. With an impressive live reputation already brewing, the group took off on a huge 18 date international tour in 2019 – with 10 heaving, sweaty club shows across Germany, shows in London and across Australia, and packed out shows at BIGSOUND, Reeperbahn Festival, a mud fest of a show at The Hills Are Alive Festival and a prime time sundown set at NYE On The Hill.
Now, millions of streams later, MID CITY aren't about to slow down. In the post-pandemic dawn, MID CITY are straight back into with a swag of new bangers lead by new single 'Choc Mint' and a stack of shows through Europe and Australia through mid-year in the lead up to their debut album in the later part of 2022.
